Yura means welcome for the people of Quandamooka Country and Iona College respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first people to call Australia home.
Aspiration, inspired by Jesus, for the benefit of others, has always been a core element of Iona College since 1957. The Oblates of Mary Immaculate have worked closely with families for generations and the purpose of this masterplan is to continue to develop our precious College in a strategic and visionary way that meets current and future needs.
This masterplan has been achieved through collaboration with the college community to co-create a human-centred vision, using human experiences on site, and will influence all future projects. It is an innovative, flexible framework that is of Iona College, for Iona College. This framework will help guide the College to identify needs and plan strategically to invest in the future development of the College
Mr Trevor Goodwin,
Iona College Principal
Fr Michael Twigg O.M.I., Iona College Rector
The masterplan is spiritually enriched and exudes the Ionian culture, Oblate spirit and experience. It will guide the strategic development of the College’s physical infrastructure.
The masterplan reflects each of the strategic priorities of the College – human dignity, reconciliation, excellence and aspiration, the Oblate charism, faith and mission, community and responsible stewardship.
Iona College is a gift that has been built upon community spirit. It is a gift that keeps on giving, and will continue to give for generations to come.
We envisage that the ‘iASPIRE Iona College Masterplan’, will benefit both current and future generations of Ionians.
You, as a valuable member of our community, will have ample opportunities to be part of this wonderful project that will transform this already wonderful learning environment.
If you are passionate about being part of an initiative that benefits our boys in the immediate future as well as in the longer term, please contact the College via 07 38938888 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
