The Iona Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) opened in 1998 in the College’s 40th anniversary year. Construction commenced in October 1997 and was completed in September 1998.
The building comprised areas for student and public use including a 500 seat auditorium and facilities for drama, music and conference activities. A Thanksgiving Mass and opening ceremony was held and attended by His Grace, Archbishop J. Bathersby D.D, the then Governor General of Australia, Sir William and Lady Helen Deane and numerous Oblate priests.
