Back in 1969, the Iona assemblies were held outdoors. It was still an opportunity for the whole school to gather together, but was dependent on weather conditions especially the Queensland summer heat.
Fifty years ago, the thought of enjoying assembly in an indoor air conditioned space would never have crossed the minds of the students. The new Iona Gathering Space will one day, be a reality.
