Located on the site of the existing Quadrangle, the expansion and enhancement of the Civic Heart and the removal of vehicles will enable a safe and seamless connection across the entire College. This new area is envisioned to be a plaza connecting Fr Peter Daly O.M.I Art Precinct and the Primary Precinct to the St Euguene De Mazenod Resource Centre and the Iona College Founders’ Lecture Theatre. A mix of hard and soft landscape spaces will connect throughout, providing informal meeting places for students.

An expansion of Administration will include a new student centre, accessible from the new Civic Heart. Public vehicle access will be removed from this space with pavements designed to enable special vehicle access to the Chapel only. Enhancement of the space around the Chapel is an important aspect of this redevelopment, along with the creation of covered accessways for the students.
